Hey Amalesh! You’re were one of the first ones that brought Trance-Information to the Internet. Tell us how you started and how things developed.
My first goa party was the VooV \'94. It was amazing, a new universum for me... Collecting the flyers was like taking a shell from the beach just to remember the beach later on. From 1996 to \'99 I lived in Freiburg and in the first days down there, where goaparties have been totally unknown I started to scan all the collected party flyers to publish them in the web. To get and stay in contact with the scene I added a party section with new dates, later on based on a database... That was the root.
And until today the goabase grows and grows like a garden. Every new idea around the parties produces a new branch of sub ideas. The list is too long to write them down here...
Anyway, all the featureas are made with one goal in mind: Connect people through the parties.
How popular is Goatrance.de today?
I guess after a while everybody who like to go to goatrance parties visited goatrance.de
More than 5.000 visitors are online every day.
Why is it that popular?
Maybe because the people like it :)
Is (alternative) Trance Culture and Internet a contradiction?
No. We live today and we love electronic music - why to be against the internet? That\'s a contradiction itself.
How about females in the web today?
Ask the females :)
Since you started Goatrance.de you never accepted Banners to make money out of your website. Why is this so?
Banners are okay if they are needed to get money back which was invested into the site. But goatrance.de was and is just a past time project - and as I would invest money and time for every other past time project I pay monthly something for goatrance.de
My benefit is glory and honor, LOL
What keeps you interested in keeping Goatrance.de going and evolving?
Realizing my ideas about a party website. Last but not at least - just making a party site for myself :)
Is Trance Culture developing positively lately?
I really don\'t know. The trance culture develops by itself. New people come into it with new ideas and styles.
What’s your greatest experience related to Goatrance.de?
To realize that I\'m automatically on all guest lists ;))
Do you have visions what should happen with Trance in the Net or with Goatrance.de?
Hmmm, I think it grows by itself. But all depends on the people - what they like do and what they want to do. People like to connect each other - and from my point of view a website should help to connect them.
What do you think of Chaishop.com?
One of the most important websites for the trance scene. A lot of infos - but sometimes hard to find them.
Thank you very much for this Interview!
You are welcome :)
