MEXICAN TRANCE ARTISTS

SOLAR GLIDERS / OBRIX DD

Interviewed by Dj Vazik

1. Hello guys!, for all those people who still don´t know who you are, please
tell them who you are and explain us a little bit how you got into making trance music and which is your background.

Juan and Diana (aka Deedee) both from Mexico City.
Juan: I got in to trance music at the beginning of 1998. I have been
studying music since I was 15, my instrument is the guitar and I was in
to jazz & rock music. After listening to some of the distance to Goa & Goa trance compilations I bought a 303 and started making noise.
Deedee: At the end of 1999 I went to my first trance party and loved
it. Got involved in learning
a bit of music and production. By the end of 2000 I began Solar Gliders
with Juan

2. Tell us a little bit about your projects now, which kind of sound do they have?
Solar Gliders is into psychedelic progressive sound
Obrix DD is a freestyle project.

3. What do you think of the Mexican trance scene?
The scene is growing very fast, with its positive and negative sides .
We are all learning to use the collective consciousness culture so we are
in a constant process.
The scene is very complex because of the economic situation of the country.
The people have a very unique vibe!

4. Is there any Latin/Mexican trance artist that you admire? Which other Latin music do you like?

We admire everyone who do this with their heart and those who have
their own sound (copies suck)
We listen to Son Jarocho, and Cubano also like Bossa Nova, Salsa,
Cumbia, Mambo and ………. the list is long.

5. Please tell us one of your greatest moments in your career and one that you really won’t even talk about.

After we sent our first promo we got a pair of proposals for releasing an
LP. Something we didn’t expect. We chose to do it with Starsound Rec.
Unfortunately the LP never came out because the label´s lack of
professionalism . So we were left with signed contracts and an album
in our hands. BAD LUCK

6. What are your plans for the future?

Working in our music is our everyday plan. We are now going for an ice
cream, and coming back to work .

7. Is there something else you want to say to all the people who might read this interview?

Keep positive!
