New Years Eve

@ the CCC!

San Francisco, CA
Text: aaron

The folks at CCC (Consortium of Collective Consciousness) had a benefit party for New Years to raise money for their ongoing legal battle to fight the eviction from the warehouse. The fantastic warehouse space on Howard Street, known as CCC, has housed many a trance party. Some of the first witnessed the birth of Spacetribe, Olli Wisdom, Goa Gil, et al. would regularly pass through the CCC, one of the original collective warehouse spaces organized around parties and electronic music. The other, Space Station Russ, has recently been vacated as a result of an owner eviction as well, after ten years of continuous trance...

So New Years Eve, we ripped it up at the triple C:
Two areas, the downstairs dancefloor was pumping psychedelic trance,
featuring Alex (CCC), Aaron (Me), Sam (Biodegradeable/Untied States), DJayDee (CCC), and Peter Z (Ceiba/Kode IV) live.
The upstairs space lounge featured Cyril and Raven(WaterJuice) live, Anna/Anon (Eyephunk), and Antonio (Eyephunk)...

I left about 10 am and it was still going strong. They usually go all day at the C. All night, all day...
It seemed like not as packed as some parties there in the past have been, but still fairly full, and the people who were there were going off. Most of the people who had been there all night were still dancing when I left at 10 am.
It's like home for many people, and literally for the few remaining occupants-

Many have lived there or slept within it's walls whilst in San Francisco.
Many more have danced there, done yoga on the roof, hung paintings on the walls,
spun fire sticks in "middle america", eaten dinner there, etc...
It's been a central pillar in the freak community and would be sadly missed if it went away.
(* SAD NOTE * - the eviction happened- there was a 3 day party after the Howeird Street Fair-
The CCC is now a non-corporeal Entity exclusively.
