Last year the first edition of the Photonic Festival was for many visitors a special experience and a welcome supplement to the festivals already there in the Netherlands. The many positive reactions and the speed at which the festival sold out gave leeway to an expansion of the festival to two days; friday 6 and saterday 7 of August.
;
A weekend in which visual technology, art, music and nature melt together. Enjoyed in a relaxed environment of ambient, triphop, abstract soundscapes and IDM. At the same time you are surrounded by visual art in the broadest sense of it's meaning; vid-projections, 'dia'-art and a hint of theatre.

The location will stay the same, this year the festival will take place in the open-air theatre Cabrio in Soest. This because Photonic received a 'gouden kabouter' in the catagory 'most special party on a special location'. The surroundings, consisting of woods and sand form the ideal background for a audiovisual fairytale.

There is extra attention in the musical program for live elements. Besides DJ'S there will be a varied offer of live-acts, bands and soundimprovisations.
