WooF is the name for the new Androidz outdoor party
which is planned to be held the 28th of this month in Amsterdam.
Location is set and DJ's : Zapf, Mr. Jaimz and Lurk are confirmed to

Love Parade Newcastle canceled
Newcastle City Council failed to meet conditions of the Entertainment
License for Love Parade 2001. Organizer Radio 1 are now considering
the possibility to offer an alternative with help from local and national
clubs, to stage the invited DJ's indoor.

5th Street Rave against the War on Drugs
On the second of June, 4 PM, we will
traditionally gather on the (recently renovated) Dam Square to
demonstrate against the war on drugs. Last year the Street Parade
attracted three-thousand ravers and only little media attention.
Word
goes that the Phony Orphan(t?)s DJ team will play at one of the
twenty sound systems present. The manifest officially starts at
2 PM at the Oosterdokkade near Central Station. Confirmations soon,
check the Legalize website at
www.legalize.org, also for international activities.

Orion plays in 'Melkweg'
Once in a while the people from the organization 'Empathy' manage
to get a international live-act to the Netherlands and this time
Orion will be playing in the Melkweg in Amsterdam on the 6th of
April. Orion (J.Borelli) released his new album 'Metamorpheus'
a couple of months ago.

ELF'ves found new home
After closure and demolition of their last resort at the Vlaardingenlaan
the fluffies from the squatgroup ELF found a new residence at the
basisweg No. 45.
It looks like that they have to share this building with other
squatters and this has it's effect on the music played at the
parties. There will be psy-only parties though.

Progressive Dutchie DJ playing in Kopenhagen with KoxBox
Sander Kleinenberg, a well known progressive trance DJ from the
Netherlands, is asked to play with koxbox at their next party
the 12th of april in the Vega (dk). If you are interested to join
a group of Dutch koxbox fans who are planning to go there by train,
please mail one of the pagemasters and they will send you info
on travel costs and reservation of tickets.
Kleinenberg is also confirmed to mix the new global underground
'NuBreed' 2CD. He will be the fourth in line after Anthony Papa,
Danny Howells and Steve Lawler.

News: Back to live in the Netherlands
The Hague - The e-mail petition by Amsterdam based venue Winston
Kingdom and the website musicFrom.nl counted over 14½ thousand
signatures. Apparantly it was impressive enough for State Secretary
Bos to immediately promise improvements in the new artistbill,
which made it virtually impossible to have an unacclaimed band
or live PA for that matter (and even classical ensembles). The
massive protest has been fruitful.

Sci-fi update, Genome says: almost twice a worm, congrats!!!
London - A simple calculation spanning a lifetime of approximately
ten years, by the international public consortium of the mighty
Genome Project, concludes that the human gene-structure is less
complex than they thought, about 30.000 genes, almost a third
from what they thought it would be. (A worm has 18.000, a mouse
a few hundred less than a human)
What does this all mean to us? Most importantly, human behaviour
is not genetically sealed (oh really), but by environment a.s.o.
Furthermore, it means nothing yet, they can`t do anything with
it but study further. It is just phase one to find how many there
are. How they`re connected is really far more interesting, and
immensely more complex. It`s like a 5D (place (3D), time and evolution
(directional time?)) puzzle where you just discovered that you
have 30.000 pieces to play with. Patience is virtually impossible
and in fact the result of human idiocy, IMO. Now, where were those
nano-computers again?

Attention: 10.000 votes and counting
The Hague - As you probably have heard, in the Netherlands the
law has changed regarding live performers, affecting everything
from classical to alternative rock and, guess what, live psy PA.
Winston Kingdom, a venue in Amsterdam, was the first no longer
booking live bands, and has set an example for venues throughout
the Netherlands. Simply because it has become too expensive and
because there`s been too much bureaucratic paperwork per performance.
In cooperation with musicFrom.nl Winston is running an online petition
for a new artist bill. Spread the word and vote for a new arrangement.

Report: ELF closure part I
Amsterdam - The ELF is really closing. They are being evicted
after this weekend, so they will all gather for one final party,
shooting off Friday-night, with a pause on Saturday before midday
for cleaning, after which they will continue until everyone just
drops, or so they will try. They will have breakfast/lunch with
politicians on Monday-morning, so then it`ll have really, really
all ended.
Meanwhile the ELF organization is still in talks over the future
of the inhabitants and the organization as a whole. They were granted
a new home, but the situation couldn`t provide this to over eighty
people. Of course there are enough unused squattable buildings,
but if it was all that (dead) easy, there would`ve been a more
liable solution in the first place. This report will be continued
when there`s more info on the future of the ELF.

ondergaan, dan mag je je eigen muziek opzetten. Volgens De Telegraaf
mag je Normaal opzetten mocht je dat leuk vinden, dus ook ambient
zeggen wij dan. Als je het leuk vind mogen doktoren meeluisteren.

News: Cause Mental Floss chillroomlessness
Amsterdam -
Cosmic Circus had booked three party-areas, dancefloor, lounge
and chillroom, with in the chillroom a live PA (
Sonic Spunges) vs dj Saaf improvisation set. Murphy`s Law
struck the organizers and the venue had failed to tell the organizers
that the chillroom had become a restaurant for undisclosed period.
They only found out once they arrived to start decorating last
Friday, date of the party. Altogether, the crowd was very happy.
There was the lounge to relax and the dj`s Wouter and Pierre Plastique
played an awesome set. All attendees including crew and personnel
left with a big smile on their faces, the best and only approach
to fix some bugs at a party: keep on going!

will provide the Chaishop with news in the Dutch Chaishop, make
an overview of the Dutch community and more, but that will remain
a secret until we prove to be reliable enough for the task :-)
