3 Day Intensive VJ Course – Led By VJ Anyone AKA Oliver Sorrentino

This 3 day course is for people seeking to capture a comprehensive first glance at the VJ scene, from its history, its tools, to managing VJ specific projects and budgets. You will be required to create VJ content during the course, as well as examine the creative process behind works from many well known VJs. No particular experience is required to join the course, although a working knowledge of computers is essential, as well as a genuine enthusiasm for working with moving images in an experimental way.

Each day of the course deals with a different aspect of VJing, finally leading up to a 15 minute performance on the last day. the days are divided as follows:

Day 1 - Preparation
Day 2 - Creating Content and Exploring VJ Software and Hardware
Day 3 – Performance

By the end of this course you will be able to:
DESCRIBE
- be familiar with the technology used in VJ performance
PLAN
- write a time-based storyboard for a VJ project
- itemise all content needed for a project
PRACTICE
- produce content to be used for a VJ performance
- use the appropriate hardware and software to deliver a performance
PERFORM
- be comfortable with using many visual sources at the same time
- create transitions to change from one sequence to another
- have a confident onstage presence
- troubleshoot in real time
